It's a shocking thing to hear the word cancer. You know it's all around, but you don't think it could never happen to you. Even with a family history of breast cancer, including my mom at age 74, I wasn't expecting the news.
Although I cried that day and was fearful of the outcome, especially since I had no health insurance, I knew that I wanted to live to see all my grandchildren born.
